About the Institute

Advancing evidence-based ideas for a freer Canada

Our Story

The Canadian Freedom Institute was founded following a series of conversations with Peter Munk, the distinguished Canadian business leader, philanthropist, and former Chairman of Barrick Gold. These discussions crystallised a shared conviction: Canada needs independent voices advancing evidence-based policy solutions.

Our purpose is clear: to conduct rigorous, free-market research and bring these ideas to Canadians through seminars, online publications, and media outreach. We believe that open dialogue and careful analysis lead to better policy outcomes for all Canadians.
