"Conversations with the Canadians building our economy"

About the Series

Real Stories fromReal Founders

"Every entrepreneur has a story. The immigrant who arrived with nothing. The fourth-generation family business. The tech founder who failed twice before succeeding."

Entrepreneur Stories is the Canadian Freedom Institute's podcast and video series featuring in-depth conversations with Canadian entrepreneurs—the women and men who start businesses, create jobs, take risks, and drive innovation. Through long-form interviews, we explore how they built their companies, the obstacles they overcame, and the lessons they learned along the way.

Every entrepreneur has a story. The immigrant who arrived with nothing and built a manufacturing company. The fourth-generation family business navigating a changing market. The tech founder who failed twice before succeeding. The tradesperson who turned a one-person operation into a regional employer. These stories put human faces on abstract economic concepts and demonstrate how markets enable ordinary people to create extraordinary value.

Our conversations go deeper than typical business profiles. We ask entrepreneurs about the regulatory hurdles they faced, the tax burden they carry, the competition that keeps them sharp, and the customers whose problems they solve. We explore the sleepless nights, the near-failures, and the moments of breakthrough. The result is authentic, compelling content that resonates with aspiring entrepreneurs and general audiences alike.

Entrepreneur Stories serves CFI's educational mission by making the case for free enterprise through narrative rather than statistics. When listeners hear a restaurant owner describe the maze of permits required to open, or a manufacturer explain how tariffs affect their competitiveness, the argument for reducing regulatory burden becomes immediate and personal.

The series is available as a podcast on all major platforms, with video versions on YouTube and our website. Each episode includes show notes with key takeaways, relevant policy context, and resources for aspiring entrepreneurs. We are building a library of Canadian business stories that will inspire and educate for years to come.
